Pet Raincoat Size, Fit & Care

Choose a comfortable pet raincoat fit

Measure your dog while standing calmly on a level surface. Use a soft tape for the neck, the widest part of the chest behind the front legs, and the back from the base of the neck to the base of the tail.

Reading the size guide

Use the product-specific chart rather than relying only on breed or weight. When measurements fall between sizes, consider chest room, coat thickness and the garment shape.

Checking the fit

Fasten the garment without twisting. Allow two fingers beneath closures, confirm free shoulder movement and make sure fabric stays clear of the eyes, mouth, paws and toilet area.

Introducing rainwear

Start with a short indoor fitting and reward calm behavior. Move to a brief dry walk before using the raincoat in wet weather. Remove it if the dog freezes, scratches excessively, pants unusually or shows distress.

Cleaning and drying

Fasten closures, wipe away mud and follow the sewn-in label. Unless otherwise stated, hand wash or spot clean with cool water and mild detergent, then hang open until every layer is completely dry.

Important safety limits

Pet rainwear is not protective equipment, a harness, restraint or flotation device. Never leave it on an unattended, sleeping or crated animal. Inspect it before each use and discontinue use if chewed or damaged.
